Privacy policy

9-5 Fastlane is run by Nikita Balanov. This page explains what happens to your information when you use this website, request a free guide, buy the book or join the community. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email nikita@9-5fastlane.com and you will get a real answer.

What we collect and why

Your email address. When you request a free guide or join the newsletter. Used to send you the guide you asked for and occasional notes on the same subject. You can unsubscribe from every email.

Payment information. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, bank details or full payment data. Stripe gives us a confirmation that the payment succeeded and the email address you entered at checkout, so we can deliver the book and, if you chose it, invite you to the community.

Community profile. If you join the Slack community, Slack stores the name and email you signed up with. We use it to recognise you as a member and nothing else.

Basic visit data. The hosting platform logs standard request information (pages visited, approximate region, device type) for security and to keep the site running. This is not used to build a profile on you.

Advertising and tracking

We run ads on LinkedIn and, from time to time, other platforms. When you click one of those ads, the platform may set a cookie or similar identifier so it can tell whether you later bought the book or joined the newsletter. That signal is used to measure whether the ad worked and to show the ad to people similar to those who responded.

We do not share your email address, name or any purchase details with advertising platforms beyond what the platforms collect themselves through their own cookies when you interact with their ads. If a platform offers a conversion-measurement tool that hashes your email before sending it, we may use it; the platform receives a hashed, unreadable value, not your address.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from LinkedIn in your LinkedIn account settings, and from most platforms through aboutads.info/choices or your device's privacy settings.

Who we share data with

We only work with services that need the data to do their job. They are:

  • Stripe — processes payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to your card and checkout data.
  • Brevo — sends the free guides and newsletter emails. Your email address lives there so the emails can reach you.
  • Slack — hosts the community. If you join, Slack holds the profile you created there.
  • Supabase — stores the email and guide sign-up record on EU-based servers.
  • Contentsquare — measures how the site is used: which pages you open, where you click and scroll, and how far down a page you get. It can replay a visit as a recording, so I can see where people get stuck. It does not need your name or your email to do that.

We never sell, rent or trade your data. None of these services receives more than they need to perform the task above.

Cookies

This site uses very few cookies. The hosting platform sets essential cookies so the site stays up and pages load correctly. Email and advertising platforms may set their own cookies when you arrive from one of their ads or open one of their emails. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the site still works without them.

Contentsquare also sets a cookie so it can tell one visit from another. That is what lets it replay a visit as a recording. If you would rather not be recorded, block cookies for this site or use a tracker blocker, and it stops.

Where your data lives

Email and sign-up records are stored on servers inside the EU. Stripe and Slack store data under their own policies, which you can read on their sites. We do not transfer your personal data outside the EU for our own purposes.

How long we keep it

Your email address stays on the list for as long as you want to receive emails. Unsubscribe and it is removed from the active list straight away. The underlying sign-up record is kept only to prove consent and to honour the unsubscribe, then deleted. Payment confirmations are kept for as long as tax law requires, which is usually up to ten years; these do not contain your card details.

Your rights

Under GDPR (and similar laws outside the EU) you have the right to see what is held about you, to correct it, to ask for it to be deleted, and to stop receiving marketing emails at any time. To use any of these, reply to any email you have received from us or write to nikita@9-5fastlane.com. Requests are handled within thirty days.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site or the community works changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top tells you when it was last reviewed.
