What your employer pays, and what you keep

Every page on the internet about the cost of employment is written for the employer. This is the other side of it. What the company spends, what reaches your account, and what the difference is worth if you invest it.

Why there is one country here and not twenty-two

The calculator models 22 countries and it is good enough for planning. A page is a different thing. A page is a published claim about a country's tax, and it should not exist until somebody has checked the rates against that country's own tax authority and written down the date.

Checking the first country found two errors in it. The income tax rate was still 20%, a year and a half after Estonia raised it to 22%. The basic exemption still tapered away with income, after the taper had been abolished.

That is what checking is for, and it is why the rest are waiting. Meanwhile the calculator covers all 22, behind its stated assumption.
